Sara is an illustrator & graphic designer. She spent more than 10 years in the fashion industry in NYC, honing her design skills at both large and small companies. It was while designing for BabyGap that she realized her love of children's design and illustration.
Her work is a combination of pop-culture garmento and old school story book illustration -- simultaneously retro and contemporary. She is inspired most by color, travel, nature, that certain NYC attitude of pushing the envelope (really hard), and her daughter's enthusiasm for nearly everything.
Dan is the Business & Operations Manager of Sea Urchin Studio and is responsible for all aspects of the business that are not design-ey. He does a stellar job with financial and operational management, sourcing, as well as exploring new opportunities for growth.
Together, Dan & Sara make their home in Connecticut along with their daughter Chloe, two surly Chihuahuas and a very fluffy Eskimo dog.
